Eagle Warrior Emblem Wooden Plaque
The 2nd Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment traces its lineage to Troop E, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, which was activated at Fort Bliss, Texas, on 1 July 1916. During the mid-80s the battalion underwent a transition from AH-1 Cobras to AH-64 Apaches and became the first divisional Apache Battalion in the Army. In February 2003, the Eagle Warriors deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After 11 months in fierce combat, the unit successfully returned each member of the Battalion to Ft Campbell, KY in February 2004.
